Ignacio Ágreda was born in Pamplona (Spain).
He is Head of Communications, External Relations and Corporate Responsibility of ArcelorMittal Spain.
Previously, he held a similar position in Arcelor, company resulting from the merger of the European companies Aceralia (España), Arbed (Luxembourg) and Usinor (France).
He was actively involved in the privatisation campaign of Aceralia resulting from the restructuring of the Spanish steel sector.
He had formerly worked as Head of Communications of Altos Hornos de Vizcaya.
He began his career in 1976 in the newspaper El Correo in Vitoria (Spain) and he later worked for over 14 years in the newspaper DEIA in Bilbao (Spain).
He has a degree in Media Studies from the University of Navarre, a degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Deusto, a Master’s Degree in European Politics from the University of Deusto(1985) and a Master Degree in Communication Policy Studies from the City University, (1988) London.
